Statutory compliance
Gas safety compliance
The Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 require gas appliances, fittings and flues to be maintained in a safe condition by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Landlords must arrange a gas safety check every 12 months and keep the record; for commercial plant, annual servicing is the accepted standard of maintenance.
The law behind it
- Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998
- Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
What is due and when
